Sweden’s most northerly delivery ward is in Kiruna. The local municipality decided to close it down. The Social Democrats say they have to cut expenses and centralize Swedish health care. They call it “reform”.
But without local delivery ward, women in Kiruna must travel 120 kilometres to the nearest hospital. During winter time through an arctic landscape.
